Caisteal Chamuis Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

This is a blended malt Scotch whisky that embodies the classic 'Island style'. It boasts a bold and smoky flavour profile, yet remains approachable thanks to a double cask finish that effectively balances the heavy peat notes typical of Island whiskies. It's an ideal entry point for those who want to explore the world of peated whiskies, without being overwhelmed.

Carefully blended from select single malts, all of which were distilled on the Scottish islands, this whisky is re-casked in first-fill bourbon barrels to impart added depth and a mellow oak spice finish.

The individual malts that make up this whisky were originally aged in refill and first-fill American Oak Hogsheads before being blended together. Afterward, the whisky underwent a final maturation period in smaller 200-liter fresh Bourbon Barrels. This second phase of maturation and flavour blending introduces additional layers of fresh fragrant smoky oak to the original medicinal peaty aromas, as well as a hint of sweetness and heightened vanilla overtones on the palate.
