The nose initially has a BBQ smoky component, lemon salt, bacon, ash, sea air, liquorice, toasted bread. With water added it becomes softer, fresh coastal notes such as seaweed.
The taste opens with a leathery, honeyed sweetness, toasted seeded bread, white pepper, all spice, clove lemon drops. With water added - faint grassy, ashy tones, elegant, fresh fennel seed with a green pepper note.
A medium long finish, with smoked meats, light but full bodied, well balanced, charred lemon skin, oatcakes.
