Glenallachie 7 Year Old Hungarian Oak - No Box
Batch Three of The GlenAllachie Virgin Oak Series has been matured in American Oak Ex-Bourbon Barrels before giving it an additional 18 months of maturation in specially selected virgin oak casks.
These subtle flavour differences are influenced by a variety of factors, such as the oak species, local terroir, and cask toasting, charring and coopering.
Master Distiller, Billy Walker, found the rare oak from the Zemplén forest in northeast Hungary, known for its slow-growing trees and tight-grained oak - perfect for aging spirit. After toasting and charring the barrels to a medium level, the whisky was finished in Hungarian virgin oak, resulting in a unique and aromatic single malt that delivers silky smooth richness.
