Producer’s Tasting Notes

Nose

The nose reveals a caramel note akin to melting butter and sugar in a pan, along with delicate white port aromas and faint hints of marzipan-like almonds.
Palate

Smooth texture with subtle smokiness, reminiscent of a peat-burning stove. Adding a touch of water brings out flavours of berries and meringue, akin to an 'Eton mess' dessert, evoking memories of enjoying Christmas cake with sherry by the fire.

Product Description

This first release single malt introduced by the Isle of Harris distillery underwent complete production on the island and was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon, ex-oloroso, and ex-fino sherry casks. A mild peat smoke is evident in the aroma, accompanied by additional scents of wildflowers, toasted malt, and honeysuckle. The palate reveals notes of leather, meringue, and ginger.

The Hearach represents a significant milestone for the island distillery and the Isle of Harris as a whole.
