    History of the Brand


    The original Jura distillery was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell. While the distillery has seen many changes and different owners over the years, the spirit of Archibald's vision remains intact.

    The Jura distillery is one of Scotland's most renowned whisky producers. Located on the Isle of Jura, which is nestled off the west coast of Scotland, this distillery dates back to 1810.     Rebirth in the 20th Century

    Although the distillery had a flourishing period, it faced closure in the early 1900s. However, in the 1960s, the distillery experienced a revival. Robin Fletcher, owner of the Ardlussa Estate on Jura, and Tony Riley-Smith, the then head of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries, played instrumental roles in resurrecting the distillery and making it operational again.
