Nose

Sweet apple, pear, honey, warming spice, and delicate peat.
Palate

Buttery smooth texture with dried lemon, apricot and cinnamon. Hints of nutmeg with toasted oak and sweet peat smoke.
Finish

Dried fruits, marzipan, crystallised ginger with lingering peat smoke.

Product Description

Kilchoman distillery has released a limited edition whisky for 2023, called the Cognac Cask Matured. This special edition is a blend of 32 Cognac casks sourced from Tonellerie Bossuet in France.

The heavily peated spirit used in this release has been fully matured in these casks for a minimum of six years. As a result of this process, the spirit has taken on the herbaceous, sweet spice flavours of the Cognac casks which perfectly balance with the citrus-fruit notes of the Kilchoman spirit. This also allows the delicate maritime peat smoke of Kilchoman to subtly shine through, creating a unique and flavourful whisky.
