Description

The Balvenie DoubleWood 12, launched in 1993, is a masterpiece of wood finishing created by Malt Master David Stewart in 1982.

After at least 12 years in bourbon barrels and hogsheads, the whisky is transferred to sherry casks for an additional nine months. The process is completed in oak tuns for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously, resulting in a single malt whisky with a unique character and depth of flavour.

The traditional casks add a delicate touch, while the sherry wood brings fullness, and the tuns provide the perfect harmony.

Other reviews will tell you about the whisky. I like it, always have. Great price, tumbler an added bonus on this occasion, although its more likely to be used for water than whisky. Delivered quickly, opened quickly, I am now drinking this, well, quickly, I suppose.
