The Macallan Concept series is a collection of 3 annual limited releases:
Macallan Concept 1 - The first in the series and one of a flurry of expressions launched by Macallan in 2018 was inspired by the world of surrealist art. The box presents Macallan’s six pillars reimagined through a surrealist lens.
Macallan Concept 2 - The second was released at the end of 2019 and created exclusively for global travel retail. This release celebrates Music. The idea for the Music bottle came from Macallan Whisky Maker Steve Bremner who by day blends whisky and by night mixes music as a DJ.
The whisky itself has been matured in Sherry-seasoned casks, and then ex-Bourbon barrels.
Macallan Concept 3 - The third and final release in the Concept Series. Released in mid-2021. This edition brings together whisky and design through their collaboration with David Carson, a revolutionary graphic designer. The whisky itself was matured in fresh fill sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrelsThe bottle was made available at Global Travel Retail outlets and The Macallan Airport Boutiques.
