Gold Winner at both the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2010 and the Scotch Whisky Masters 2011, Glenkinchie 12 Year Old is a light, delicate Whisky with a gentle sweetness and approachable demeanour.

One of the few remaining Lowland distilleries, Glenkinchie's rural location amid fields of barley, just twenty miles from the hustle and bustle of the capital, makes this 'The Edinburgh Malt'.

Distilled using some of Scotland's largest stills; matured for 12 years, the result is a light, fresh and floral whisky.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Nose: Noticeable vanilla, cut flowers (daffodil, blossom and hints of lily) and beneath these, a clean, toasty note. Becomes increasingly sweet and creamy, with a lightly aromatic edge and fresh citrus.
Palate: Very fruity with notes of Madeira and sweet stewed fruits. Becomes quite oaky late palate.
Finish: Herbal and drying, a little like potpourri.

Glenkinchie 12yr

Good whisky. 43% but it needs to be as it’s chill-filtered. Any less ABV and this whisky would disappoint. Great floral nose, floral and spicy on the palate with a short finish. As expected for a whisky of this type! Is it a must have? In my opinion - No! Is it worth a try - absolutely!
