How whisky is made
In essence, whisky comes to life through a trio of key elements: grains, water, and yeast. The journey itself follows a rather simple path: from grain mashing and fermentation to distillation, all the way to the patient aging process in wooden barrels.
The Balvenie DoubleWood 12, launched in 1993, is a masterpiece of wood finishing created by Malt Master David Stewart in 1982.
After at least 12 years in bourbon barrels and hogsheads, the whisky is transferred to sherry casks for an additional nine months. The process is completed in oak tuns for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously, resulting in a single malt whisky with a unique character and depth of flavour.
The traditional casks add a delicate touch, while the sherry wood brings fullness, and the tuns provide the perfect harmony.

Scotch Whisky Regions
Scotch whisky hails from various regions in Scotland, each imparting unique characteristics. From the Highlands to Lowlands, Islay to Speyside, and Campbeltown, Scotch whisky delivers a tapestry of flavors. These can range from the fruity and floral to the smoky and peaty.

Irish Whisky: The Triple-Distilled Elegance
Just like Scotch, Irish whisky must be produced in Ireland to bear the name. Irish whisky typically undergoes triple distillation, resulting in a smooth and light character.
