Pioneering Sustainability in Scotch Whisky Production with Nc’nean

Nc’nean is an independent, organic whisky distillery that exists to create experimental spirits and pioneer sustainable production. Based on the Morvern Peninsula on the wild west coast of Scotland, they produce a light and fruity style of single malt which can exist in harmony with this planet we call home.

Just like The Whisky Stock, Nc’nean are also B Corp certified. They use only organic Scottish barley in a distillery powered entirely by renewable energy. The whisky is bottled in a 100% recycled clear glass bottle and 99.97% of waste is diverted from landfill. As of 2021 Nc’nean became the first whisky distillery in the UK to be verified as having net zero carbon emissions for scopes 1 and 2.

Organic Single Malt with Gift Box 70cl 46% abv

Smooth and elegant, this whisky is easy-going and delicious however you drink it, with flavours of citrus, peach, apricot and spice.

Made from organic Scottish barley whose natural yields and rich soils contribute depth of flavour, it is a gentle fermentation and distillation which accentuate the delicate, fruity flavours in the spirit. Matured in specially treated red wine and American whiskey barrels, alongside a small amount of sherry casks, to develop Nc’nean’s signature body and sweetness. 

Quiet Rebels Gordon 70cl 48.5% abv

The second release in the Quiet Rebels series. The series is all about the people who make Nc’nean what it is. This release is in bottled in honour of distillery manager Gordon Woods.

Gordon believes that a great whisky should leave your mouth looking for more, and this delicious combination of STR red wine, ex-sherry and ex-Rivesaltes casks certainly does just that. It’s velvety, rich, and creamy.

Organic Botanical Spirit 40% Abv 50cl

Starting its life as their unaged whisky spirit, which is then redistilled with a unique combination of classic gin botanicals and locally foraged ones including heather, wild thyme and bog myrtle. What this creates is a fresh & floral spirit with a rich undertone, perfect in any classic gin cocktail.

Drink over ice with tonic water and a slice of grapefruit. If you have any to hand, a dash of bitters is a delightful addition.
