A 17-year-old edition of the highly popular Balvenie DoubleWood whisky has emerged as another brilliant creation from Balvenie Malt Master David Stewart's workbench. Initially aged in oak casks used for maturing whisky, this version was later transferred to sherry wood for a finishing touch. The additional aging years have enhanced its complexity, yet it remains subtle and not too dominant.

However, Balvenie has decided to discontinue this expression, and a new version is set to replace it in 2022.
