The twenty-eighth batch of the legendary Sprinbank Single Malt Scotch Whisky from That Boutique-y Malt Company is a complex twenty-three-year-old. 

This Springbank whisky was crafted by combining Sherry and Madeira casks. Distilled in November 1996, it was then carefully aged in an American bourbon barrel.

This batch is a release of 411 bottles.

Nose: Ooft! Complex, with hard rubber,
phenolics, tar, fir resin, tobacco, leaf
mulch, truffle oil. Hints of tea tree oil
and bung cloth hessian

Palate: Lovely dark fruits, big chocolate notes,
rancio, and a touch of camphor,
menthol, and seasalt. Bitter chocolate,
and a cellar/dunnage earthiness comes
through in the long finish.
